It is that time of the year again! Time to look back to move forward in 2014.
We would like all centres to choose a focus that will strengthen your teaching and learning practice to review in 2014. Similar to the last two years we will use the framework of Ngā Arohaehae Whai Hua to work through your centre self review together with other centres in a cluster:
Term 1: Preparing /te whakarite: Decide on a focus and write a focus question.
Term 1: Gathering stage/te kohikohi: Write a plan to gather information and gather information for 6-8 weeks.
Term 2: Making sense/te whai mātauranga and deciding/te whiriwhiri: Analyse the information and develop a plan for change.
Term 3 & 4: Implement the changes
Term 4: Share your progress and celebrate your successes.
This review can be as small or as big as your centre would like it to be. Self review is doing what we do best in Playcentre – striving to do better for our children.
Please see the following two documents that will support you in planning and deciding on a review focus for 2014:
- Playcentre Butterfly Effect: This document provides a guide to reflect on your practice and decide a focus for 2014.
- Self Review Process: This document helps to explain the self review process to your centre members.
- Self Review Process: An overview of the process
- Self Review Workbook: A guide to complete self review
If you have any questions please discuss with your centre support person or contact me.
